The royal family of Bhavnagar is patron to 4 education centres. For generations, the Maharaja and Maharani have promoted education in a way to empower the people, especially the youth. At present, Maharani Samyukta Kumari is a keen educationist who promotes learning, especially amongst those who are more financially in need.

Shri Nandkunverba Kshatriya Kanya Vidyalaya is the oldest boarding school for Rajput girls. It functions as an all-girls day school as well, for Gujarati and English medium education. It has received CBSE recognition for the 10th and 12th grades.
